Cleveland Events ---- Playhouse Square -- Saturday Night Fever

MENTOR, OHIO NATIVE, TONY GONAZLEZ,

LEADS CAST OF 24 TALENTED SINGERS AND DANCERS IN

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, THE MUSICAL

COMING TO PLAYHOUSE SQUARE CENTER

FEBRUARY 3RD - 8th, 2004

Tickets for the Cleveland engagement of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER - THE MUSICAL, will go on sale to the general public on December 12th.   The producers of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER are pleased to announce that Ohio native, Tony Gonazlez of Mentor, OH will play the leading role of Tony Manero.  Mr. Gonazlez recently finished four years at Otterbein College in Westerville, OH.  His credits include Kiss Me Kate, Oklahoma, West Side Story, The Secret Garden, Cedar Point Live Entertainment and The Barn Theatre. SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER begins at Playhouse Square Center on Tuesday, February 3rd and will run through Sunday, February 8th.  Tickets can be purchased by calling tickets.com at 216-241-6000, by logging onto www.playhousesquare.com or in person at the Playhouse Square Center box office.

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, inspired by the phenomenally successful 1977 film and featuring songs from the legendary soundtrack by the Bee Gees, tells the streetwise New York City story of an ambitious, talented Brooklyn kid with a burning desire to make it big in Manhattan.  It is filled with hit songs that helped launch the 1970's disco-dancing craze, including "Stayin' Alive," "Night Fever," "How Deep Is Your Love?," "You Should Be Dancing," "If I Can't Have You," and "Jive Talkin'."

The live version of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER was first presented at the famed Palladium in London's West End in 1998.  It was followed by a much-heralded Broadway engagement at the Minskoff Theater in New York City from September 1999 through December 2000.

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, adapted for the stage by NAN KINHTON (Tony Award nomination for "The Scarlet Pimpernel"), is directed and choreographed by ARLENE PHILLIPS, whose choreography has been seen on Broadway in "Starlight Express", and who directed and choreographed "EFX" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the World Tour of "The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber".

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is produced by Troika Entertainment.  The producers are in their third decade of producing touring shows of all sizes throughout North America and the world.  Productions include Smokey Joe's Café, Starlight Express, Will Rogers Follies, Grease, 42nd Street, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  Venues include the United States, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, and Japan.  Located in Washington, D.C., and well outside the New York mainstream, the company prides itself on thinking "outside the apple."
