Redundant Connectivity to Local Large and Medium Businesses

- Only Local Carrier to Offer Diverse, Redundant, and Highly Available
Optical Connections to Internet via Columbus-Based Equipment

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 10  -- Time Warner Telecom
(Nasdaq: TWTC), a leading provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for businesses in Columbus and 43 other U.S. metropolitan areas, today announced the competitive award and installation of a multi-year contract to deliver dedicated Internet services to the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) in Columbus.

Time Warner Telecom installed dedicated Internet service to deliver
Internet access to all Ohio state agencies, boards and commissions; as well as state funded K-12 educational institutions, and public libraries. The service is located in DAS Columbus locations at Rhodes Office Tower (OC-12) and the State of Ohio Computer Center (OC-48).
Time Warner Telecom made the financial investment to install a second
local Internet point of presence (POP) to deliver redundancy and to eliminate the backhauling of Internet traffic for Columbus businesses. Moreover, the second POP ensures high availability for DAS and other local businesses. Time Warner Telecom is the only local carrier to offer diverse, redundant optical connections to the Internet via equipment located in Columbus.

"The Ohio Department of Administrative Services selected us because we
offered a creative solution to eliminate single points of failure in their
Internet network," said Bob Miracle, Time Warner Telecom's Midwest regional vice president. "We were able to deliver a cost-effective solution that will save Ohio taxpayers an estimated $600,000 over the life of this contract."
