Today’s MGM Grand Provides Ultimate Las Vegas Experience
LAS VEGAS – If you haven’t been to MGM Grand lately, you
haven’t been here. On the eve of the resort’s 10th
anniversary, with the culmination of a multi-year evolution in
sight, MGM Grand provides the best of everything visitors come
to Las Vegas to find. From A-list entertainment to
award-winning restaurants, high-energy nightlife to relaxing
rejuvenation. Maximum energy. Maximum indulgence. Maximum
escape. Today’s MGM Grand provides a Maximum Vegas experience
all under one roof. MGM Grand prides itself not on a theme,
but on delivering an unforgettable Las Vegas experience.
MGM Grand President Gamal Aziz said, “The MGM Grand of today
is nothing like the resort that opened in 1993. We have come a
long way in 10 years. We’ve combined excitement with escapism
and an exceptional level of service so when people stay at MGM
Grand they feel special in a way they won’t feel anywhere
else.”
The evolution began with the opening of NOBHILL in August
2001. Designed to recreate both the atmosphere and cuisine of
San Francisco neighborhood restaurants, NOBHILL features the
freshest products direct from the Bay Area. In 2002, NOBHILL
was nominated for the James Beard Foundation Best New
Restaurant award. The nomination marked only the second time a
restaurant from Las Vegas was selected for consideration for
the Best New Restaurant category.
MGM Grand introduced two additional restaurant offerings in
2002 - Pearl, Chinese modern with a contemporary presentation,
and Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak, named “Best New Restaurant” in
Las Vegas at the 2003 Epicurean Awards. The lobby bar, Zuri, a
contemporary twist on a classic martini bar, was added in
November 2002.
This year MGM Grand set the Las Vegas nightlife scene on fire
with the February introduction of Tabú - a chic, cosmopolitan
ultra lounge symbolizing everything beautiful, sophisticated
and innovative. Designed by the incomparable architect Jeffrey
Beers, Tabú’s design is a distinct combination of modern
fashion and refined style.
With the relaxed lounge atmosphere of Zuri, the sophisticated
environment of Tabú and the high-energy excitement of Studio
54, MGM Grand is the place for nightlife in Las Vegas.
Mr. Aziz said, “MGM Grand has experienced a complete makeover
in the last two years. But the best is yet to come. Our guests
have told us that they would like us to provide the ideal Las
Vegas stay, and the MGM Grand of today doesn’t disappoint.”
The evolutionary energy continues in 2003 with the additions
of Fiamma Trattoria and Michael Mina’s SEABLUE. Fiamma brings
famed restaurateur Stephen Hanson to Las Vegas for his first
venture outside of New York. A casual version of New York's
3-star Fiamma Osteria, Fiamma Trattoria brings SoHo to the
Strip with updated versions of traditional Italian
specialties. Fiamma Trattoria opened this August to rave
reviews.
Most recently, Michael Mina introduced his newest concept,
SEABLUE, to the Las Vegas restaurant scene. Designed by
architect Adam Tihany with a focus on the clean elements of
water and stone, SEABLUE is a Mediterranean-influenced fish
market with moderate prices and phenomenal food.
Then in Summer 2004, MGM Grand will introduce to Las Vegas a
show like no other production in the world. MGM Grand’s new
Cirque Du Soleil production promises to set the world of
creative theatre on its head. The creators are developing
technology and perspectives never before seen, let alone
dreamed possible.
Mr. Aziz said, “Our guests tell us they like having the best
of everything in one place. So during the last 24 months,
we’ve been working hard to enhance the overall guest
experience at MGM Grand and deliver everything visitors desire
from a Las Vegas vacation.”
Award-winning restaurants, innovative, world-class
entertainment, and high-energy nightlife combined with
superior service, luxurious accommodations, a grand pool
complex and a celebrated spa provide one powerful package of
energy, indulgence and escape. That’s a maximum Vegas
experience. That’s MGM Grand.
