Congresswoman Tubbs Jones addresses those in attendance at the groundbreaking for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones announces that the Cleveland Housing Network's Bringing Information Technology has received a federal grant through the Technologies Opportunities Program (TOP) at the U.S. Department of Commerce. The grant will be in the amount of $12.4 million. 

"In order for Greater Cleveland to effectively compete in this global economy," said Rep. Tubbs Jones, "more federal funding is made available so that everyone had access to technology." 

The Cleveland Housing Network's Bringing Information Technology is an interactive technology program using the Internet to build capacity for successful homeownership and financial strength among underserved low-income families. Bringing IT Home literally means bring home skills, equipment and technology to interact with banking and money management, homeownership and maintenance, residence support, and community relations applications for low- income families who are working toward lasting financial stability.
