Why now is the time to invest in a Franchise

By Joel M. Libava International Franchise Dev. /Frannet

So the economy in our area is still not too hot. If you are thinking about investing in your own business, this could be the best time.

There are many reasons for this including:

1. Extremely low interest rates for business loans and home equity lines and loans

2. It could be better to start your business when things are slow, so you can concentrate on marketing, and learning the franchisors operating system.

3. It is a great time to join your local Chamber of Commerce, business networking groups etc. Getting your name out now, while you have some extra time, can pay handsome future rewards.Typically groups like these need to get to know you, your product or service etc. before they will start referring customers to you. This can position your business for future growth.

4. If you get everything set up and ready now, when the economy starts coming back you will be ready!

5. The paperwork necessary for the business to start {state, federal, and local requirements} might not take as long to go through if there are not a lot of people starting businesses.

6. If the business requires a leased space, those in the commercial real estate industry are anxious to make deals, and more importantly , the landlords want empty space filled so they can pay their loans.

7. Receiving your business start up inventory and materials should be fast, if there is not a lot of activity.

8. Finding quality employees, and more of them is usually easier if there have been a lot of layoffs.

9. Vendors that you will work with really want your new business.
They might arrange longer payment plans, or offer other incentives.

All in all, try not to let the bad economy deter you from your dreams of business ownership.

This could be a great time to start!
