EqualLogic Reaches Global Storage Market with
Distributor Net One Systems
Net
One Systems Spearheads Adoption of Affordable,
Easy-to-Deploy IP SANs in
Japan by Offering EqualLogic's PeerStorage Array
Nashua, N.H., January 26, 2004– EqualLogic®, Inc., today announced a distribution and
support agreement with Net One Systems Co., Ltd.,
Japan’s largest independent network solution
provider. Net One is selling and supporting
EqualLogic’s PeerStorage™ Array 100E, an intelligent
iSCSI storage solution, as part of its network
storage offering to meet growing market demand for
IP-based storage solutions.
Net
One Systems is one of
Japan’s
largest full-network service providers with reach
into
Japan’s
enterprise and telecommunications markets.
PeerStorage technology is attractive to Net One’s
customer base because it eliminates the complexity
of storage administration by automating all key
functions to configure, manage and scale storage. A
storage area network (SAN) built using PeerStorage technology supports dynamic load balancing, hot
swapping, hardware redundancy, snapshots, and volume
replication. Storage capacity is easily added as
needed and is dictated by a prediction of future
needs.
“There is a great need for affordable and reliable
products for storage consolidation. We focus on
delivering practical storage solutions that feature
high performance and reliability,” said Yoshiaki
Kobayashi, managing director at Net One Systems.
“After evaluating a number of storage solutions,
PeerStorage was the obvious choice because of its
simple modularity, automated management, and scaling
capability for the ever-growing storage needs of our
customers. PeerStorage solves the economic and
accessibility issues of SAN implementation, making
it an important addition to our already successful
portfolio of network-based storage solutions.”
IDC
Japan predicts a 15.4 percent compound annual growth
rate (CAGR) per year in domestic SAN related markets
for 2003-2007. In addition, the disk strike storage system will reach
87,110 million yen in 2003, an increase of 22
percent compared with last year.
“Net One has a successful track record based on
experience and expertise selling into the growing
Japanese storage market,” said Peter Hayden,
executive vice president of business development at
EqualLogic. “Our PeerStorage array provides Net One
with the most comprehensive, easy-to-use solution
for creating and managing a storage area network.
Also, since our PeerStorage solution is IP-based,
Net One can leverage the expertise and sales
strengths of its whole organization to capitalize on
the growing market opportunity.”
