Early this morning, The Cuyahoga Mortgage Fraud Task force raided two Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority buildings. These raids included the CMHA Headquarters on West 25th Street and the CMHA Voucher Program building on Hamilton Ave.

A Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s car was blocking the entrance to the buildings and employees showing up to work were forbidden to enter either building.

Rumor has it they are retrieving records pertaining to voucher programs. The Voucher Program offers rental assistance to grant low income persons safe and affordable rental housing.

The agents are reportedly from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

Late Tuesday morning, CMHA provided the following statement:

"We are fully cooperating with officials in the investigation. We will have no further comment until we have additional details regarding the investigation."
