If you are a Willie Nelson fan or a Dennis Kucinich supporter, Sunday afternoon’s “fun raiser” event may provide a fun evening.
Country music legend Willie Nelson will be performing on Kucinich’s behalf at the Lorain Palace Theatre. Tickets are $15.
Nelson has always been a huge supporter of Dennis Kucinich. Nelson played and worked to raise money for Kucinich when he embarked on his ill-fated bid for presidency in 2004.
It’s no secret that Nelson holds much enthusiasm for the legalization of marijuana. Kucinich has also shown support for legalization of the drug, which makes them likely allies.
The Republican-created redistricting map squeezed Kucinich out of the bulk of Cuyahoga County and into a snake-like district along the Lake Erie shoreline which includes Toledo. Unfortunately for Kucinich, Toledo is shown to heavily favor Rep. Marcy Kaptur who has served the area for many years. The city of Lorain, which neither currently represents, sits in the middle as fair territory. There’s a possibility Lorain and its surrounding cities could determine the winner.
Kaptur has already received endorsements from Lorain’s mayor, city council president and other elected officials in the city.
