Rock Hall has 5 -Millionth Visitor

(Cleveland, OH) -- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum welcomed its five-millionth visitor Saturday. For her stroke of luck, Bonnie Mueller of Atlanta received a jacket emblazoned with "five millionth visitor" and a new Gibson guitar. The Rock Hall has been open for eight years.

Lakewood Library Tops In Country

(Lakewood, OH) -- The city of Lakewood is enjoying its 15 minutes of fame. The Hennen's American Public Library has ranked the Lakewood Public Library number one in the country. The ranking was based on factors such as circulation, materials, staffing and funding.

Thousands Turn Out For Breast Cancer Walk

(Cleveland, OH) -- Nearly four thousand people turned out for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk in Akron and Canton over the weekend. More than $300 thousand was raised to help fund breast cancer research.

Cleveland State Receives Generous Gift

(Cleveland, OH) -- Cleveland State University has received a financial shot in the arm. Businessmen Sam Miller and Carl Glickman have each donated an additional $1 million to the school's Moses Cleveland Scholarship Fund. The funds will support student scholarships within Cleveland State's new honors program. Both men were founding philanthropists when the fund was established last year.

Drivers Told To Use Caution

(Strongsville, OH) -- Strongsville authorities are asking drivers to take a minute and use common sense when driving through the heavily populated business area along State Route 82 between Interstate 71 and the Valley Parkway. Officials say there have been about 15 accidents in the area in the past two months.

Beer Barrell Soloon to close for Holloween

(Put-In-Bay, OH) -- The world's longest bar will be closed for the annual Put-In-Bay Halloween party this year. The Beer Barrel Saloon and its attached restaurant, Tipper's, won't be able to participate in the October 25th festivities. The island bar received several liquor violations in 2001 and was ordered closed for 20 days, beginning October 10th.<
