Two Cleveland Schools considered for
National Awards Two Cleveland area
schools are up for a national education award. Chagrin
Falls High School and Louisa May Alcott Elementary
School were both nominated for a Blue Ribbon Schools
Award. Seventy-five percent of the students need to
score high on proficiency tests for a school to be in
the running for the honor. Yesterday, Wickliffe
Elementary earned a spot in the Ohio Association of
Elementary School Administrators' Hall of Fame
Sawdust transmitted E.coli bacteria
Health experts are blaming sawdust in the air for
transmitting E. coli bacteria throughout the Lorain
County Fair. Twenty-three people were affected by the
outbreak in 2001. A report in the "Journal of the
American Medical Association," says a barn dance stirred
up the sawdust which transmitted the bacteria into other
buildings and onto food and beverages. Teens Accused of Making fake
money - Two Highland Middle School
teens, ages 13 and 14, are in hot water with the
school's administration. The duo has been accused of
making fake money by using a scanner. An assistant
principal was alerted by another student about the money
and the information was passed on to local authorities
Cleveland ready to layoff 700 city workers
Mayor Campbell outlined plans to layoff hundreds of city
police and firefighters. Sacrificing safety to balance
the city budget. Man wants Cleveland
Mayor recalled - A local contractor
wants to give Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell the boot.
Michael Levin says he'd be a better leader. He's hoping
to get 21 thousand signatures over the next 30 days to
start the process of removing Cleveland's first female
mayor. Levin says as the city's new leader he would get
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies
moved to Cleveland. Right now, some of Mayor Campbell's
support has shifted after announcing more than 700 job
cuts in the city's work force this week. |
