Britney Spears Cleveland Concert
Cancelled
Cleveland-- There were some disappointed Britney
Spears fans in Cleveland last night. The pop diva
cancelled her appearance due to illness. The show was
suppose to take place at the Gund Arena. It has been
rescheduled for June 29th. There had been
sightings of her at some downtown nightclubs later that
evening.
Alcohol Regulation at Dance Clubs Denied
Cleveland- Cleveland Federal Judge Ann Aldrich has
ruled the state can't regulate alcohol sales at clubs
that feature nudity. Aldrich denied a bid by the Ohio
Liquor Commission, saying it would violate First
Amendment rights. Attorneys for strip clubs in Cleveland
and Columbus cited a report by a sociologist that stated
there is no link between crime and strip clubs that
serve alcohol. I 90 Freeway Exit in
Avon More Likely
Avon The possible move of a Cleveland Clinic
facility from Westlake to Avon could result in a new
Interstate 90 interchange. That plan will be discussed
later this month with businesses and Avon city
officials. It would reportedly also ease traffic
congestion in that city. Avon is in a construction boom,
with 400 - new homes built every year.
