Lucky Casino Niagara patron wins $50,000 "bonus"


Niagara Falls, ON - On Saturday, May 17, a blackjack player at Casino Niagara managed to earn a big payday from an unexpected source - a slot machine.

Toronto, Ontario, resident Chul-Min Chun won a $50,000 jackpot after being dealt a suited blackjack, which earned him a single pull on a special slot machine as part of Casino Niagara’s "$50,000 Bonus" promotion.

Until 11:59pm on May 31, any patron who either wins a hand-paid slot machine jackpot or is dealt a suited blackjack receives a voucher which entitles that patron to a single pull on the specially-designated "bonus" slot machine. Different combinations of symbols on the machine earn the patron different prizes - items ranging from hats and t-shirts to cash prizes of up to $50,000.

Chun beat the odds by first getting a suited blackjack and then hitting the right combination of symbols on the machine to take the top prize.

"It’s amazing, really," said Jay Meilstrup, general manager. "Here is a patron playing cards who ends up hitting big on a slot machine. It’s these kinds of unexpected bonuses and creative promotions that keep people coming back to Casino Niagara over and over."
