Cleveland Public Library has
partnered with Cuyahoga County Public
Library, CLEVNET Library
Consortium, and NOLA (Northeast Ohio Library
Association) to launch a free statewide virtual
reference service. This new Ohio library service wilI
feature Cleveland Public Library's groundbreaking KnowltNow
24x7 online virtual reference tool for every Ohio
resident.

service showcases the continued cooperation and partnerships
of Ohio's premier library systems. For more information, call

Cleveland
Public Library
is the first library in the nation to offer
ReadThisNow.net, a new live online readers' advisory
feature of KnowltNow24X7.net services. ReadThisNow.net
draws on the expertise of library professionals at CPL
Branches and Main Library and CLEVNET Consortium libraries
engaged daily in matching readers with books.
Equipped
with all the resources available at the library (both print
and digital) librarians are available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week to answer questions and assist in finding
information about books and reading. Once logged on, readers
and a librarian engage in a "chat" session that features
cobrowsing capabilities.
At the
conclusion of each ReadThisNow.net session, readers
receive a complete transcript of the session via email that
includes links to all Internet resources shared during that
session. ReadThisNow.net has a Readers' Resource web
page, and a "reading management" system which allows readers
to keep track of their reading lists and share recommendations
with others.
